2nd Avenue / Wilbur Street Reconstruction This project improves access to the popular Carlson Center in Fairbanks, and replaces aging underground utilities buried beneath the street. Fairbanks International Airport Heavy Cargo Apron This two year project will involve several interesting tasks. First, muck was required to be excavated from an old slough, replaced with gravel and compacted utilizing the dynamic compaction method. Construction of the apron will also require construction of a new ALSF building, relocation of approximately one mile of railroad track, and installation of a hydrant fueling system. Donnelly Battle Area Complex This project, located in an expansive area east of Fort Greely, will construct a small town-like setting with partially constructed buildings, underground culverts and other features for urban warfare training as well as several Stryker trails and Stryker target emplacements for Stryker training. Great Northwest, Inc. is responsible for all earthwork on this project as a subcontractor to Doyon-American, JV. This project encompasses just under 1,000 acres of improved grounds.
