Company Facilities -
Located in Fairbanks, Alaska our facilities are centrally located in the state and are available for a variety of industrial uses. With rail access, highway access and a 2-mile long international airport constructed to handle fully loaded 747 cargo jets just a few miles away, our location is ideal for any undertaking in the heart of Alaska.

Access to points north does not have the height restriction associated with overpasses, and has saved our clients time and money by pre-assembling larger loads for shipment from Fairbanks. These facilities also enjoy the designation of "Foreign Trade Zone" status. This special designation allows any duty owed on foreign supplied materials to be delayed until the material leaves the zone, assisting owner's needs to manufacture and/or store material prior to completing a project.

Forefront Accounting SoftwareOffice Facilities -
The Great Northwest, Inc. office is located in an industrial area near Van Horn and Peger Road. This 2,500 square foot office provides space for all administrative, marketing and estimating departments. A modern facility constructed in 1998, it is wired with CAT-5 networking cable and supplied with high speed, always on Internet access for efficient communication and research. Our accounting department utilizes the "Forefront" accounting package of Dexter+Chaney to provide timely, accurate, up to date project cost information. Cost codes can be nested similar to the WBS system and purchase orders are utilized to facilitate tracking and real time expense review.

Yard Facilities -
An additional 299 acres of property in various stages of development surround the Great Northwest, Inc. shop and office. The southern 6,000 foot long boundary has a railroad spur running its full length. As this spur is very seldom used, we have arranged with the Alaska Railroad to be able to stage and unload cars from this siding. Approximately 1,200 feet of this siding is currently improved with a 500-foot deep pad to facilitate material staging. The northern boundary fronts Van Horn Road, facilitating highway-based developments. The remaining central area has been developed into a gravel mining and processing area. There are several million cubic yards of gravel reserves available for property development and other projects in the Fairbanks area.

Shop Facilities -
The Great Northwest, Inc. shop and maintenance facility is a modern facility constructed in 1998. It is also tied into the office CAT-5 network system for accounting, communication and internet access. This facility is founded on a 5,500 square foot heated slab, enclosed with oversize overhead doors, and topped out with a ten-ton bridge crane. The air space is conditioned with several types of air exchange units and filters to provide for the health and comfort of our shop personnel. The shop facility is surrounded by an 8 acre improved yard for equipment and material staging.

Equipment Resources -
Our equipment inventory includes everything from the reliable No. 2 shovel to the very large D-10 Dozer, and everything in-between. At close to 400 pieces of heavy equipment our equipment spread is valued at over $10 million and can handle a variety of major projects. Additional equipment is available from local and national rental outlets to provide additional capacity. A full list of our available equipment will be made available upon request.
